Pacific Coast Scenic Byway - Oregon
Munson Creek Falls, OR

While there are numerous waterfalls throughout Tillamook County, most of the accessible ones are small. The exception is Munson Creek Falls, located about seven miles south of Tillamook. Munson Creek Falls ranks as the highest waterfall in the Coast Range, dropping 266 feet over spectacularly rugged cliffs.

A sign off Highway 101 directs motorists to a 1 to 2 mile roadway leading to a parking area and trails. The lower trail is a short, easy walk to the base of the falls with a picnic area nearby. The upper trail requires a little more vigor but rewards the hiker with a mid-point view of the falls. The trails are less than a half-mile long and offer beautiful views of this lush, green gorge. While spring, summer and fall provide the most colorful backdrops, the winter views are truly remarkable. Massive run-offs, and freezing temperatures transform the forests and falls into a crystal paradise.
