The Energy Loop: Huntington/Eccles Canyons Scenic Byway
Electric Lake, UT

A dam was constructed on Huntington Creek to create a reservoir for Huntington Power Plant. This reservoir is now known as Electric Lake. It can be seen from two stops on The Energy Loop: Huntington/Eccles Canyons Scenic Byway, but its west side is hidden from view as visitors drive through sections of Fairview and Huntington Canyons. Something most visitors may not notice is that Electric Lake covers an old ghost town known as Connellsville, an early coal-mining town. Old kilns and mines lay at the bottom of the reservoir.
