Great for soaking up the sun and swimming in the shallow, calm, clear water of the Atlantic Ocean, Smathers Beach is Key West’s largest public beach with a 1-mile stretch of fine white sand. There are food vendors, volleyball courts, showers and bathrooms. You can rent beach chairs, windsurfers, jet skis, kayaks and umbrellas at several locations along the beach and para-sailing rides are also available.
