In the winter months many attractions close or focus attention on providing winter recreation opportunities - hunting, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, weekend getaways.

The Colebrook and Lancaster Waypoint Centers are closed during some winter months.

The best time of the year to drive the byway is from Memorial Day through the end of October.

High Season

Extra crowds and traffic will likely be experienced during the spectacular fall foliage season between mid-September and Columbus Day.
