Enjoy hiking? Then you will revel in the plethora and variety of trails along the Chinook Scenic Byway in Washington. Spectacular scenery awaits you with the byway’s every twist and turn, and every stop offers a new trail to tread. Choose from a variety of grades and lengths for the perfect hike!
Enjoy a constantly dramatic view of Mt. Rainier from one of several trails in Mount Rainier National Park. The Naches Loop Trail is a short distance of 3.5 miles round-trip, with a gentle rise in elevation of 500 feet. The loop will take you through sweet-smelling sub-alpine meadows and fields of huckleberries in late summer and early fall, and ends with breathtaking views of Mount Rainier.
For new adventures, another option is to extend the Naches Loop Trail hike and climb the Pacific Crest Trail. If you have a few hours to spend, this 10.5-mile trail to the Three Lakes Trail is a challenging trek through fantastic countryside. You will be able to occasionally sample the still quiet of sub-alpine forests, but most of the trail winds through flowering meadows, near icy ponds and past tumbling waterfalls.
Discover some of the most fascinating views of Mt. Rainier National Park and the Chinook Scenic Byway from new heights on one of the many hiking trails in the area.
