Colorado River Headwaters Byway
Kremmling, CO
In 1906 the railroad arrived in Kremmling. The town grew, supported by a strong ranching community that still exists today. Kremmling and the surrounding area provide many recreational opportunities for visitors to the Byway. Fishing on the Colorado and Blue Rivers may yield trophy trout. Hiking, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking, and snowmobiling in the winter are all activities that visitors may enjoy. Kremmling was initially developed because of its prime location at the junction of the Colorado, Muddy, and Blue Rivers. This junction provided essential transportation for travelers and military groups.
