Special Considerations

This park sits at a very high elevation (between 8,000 and over 14,000 feet). Visitors may need time to acclimate to this. People with various medical conditions may want to check with their doctor before visiting the park.

Restrictions

Visitors cannot drive on Trail Ridge Road from late fall to the Memorial Day weekend because the road is closed.

Typical mountain summer conditions exist between June and Aug.

November through March is cold and windy at the park.
