On the Indian River Lagoon National, Scenic Byway explore 150 miles of the eastern central Florida Coast. Here you can see the Kennedy Space Center and move all the way down the Atlantic, following several impressive towns and beaches. With a diverse habitat and breathtaking scenery, find a sense of calm and create some incredible memories. Take a week to thoroughly enjoy the numerous state parks, local parks, animals, beaches, and tons of water sports.

Begin in Cape Canaveral at the Kennedy Space Center, where you might see a spaceship launch with the right planning. Here you can see the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum and the American Police Hall of Fame. Then, move back to nature by checking out the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary. Several fun parks allow you to spend time outside.

Move down to Cocoa Beach for an old-fashioned pier, a park, and sandy beaches. Kids will love the Dinosaur Store for fun shopping and to learn about prehistoric animals. Take kids to the skate park or the aquatic center to tire them out for the next day’s adventure. Stay at the Discovery Beach Resort and grab an impressive streak at Florida’s Fresh Grill restaurant. Across to the left, you can visit Cocoa to see a play or take a riverboat tour. Take the family to the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science. Explore space at the Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatory before moving south.

Moving down following the St. Johns River that turns into multiple lakes to Merritt Island to visit the NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, and the Space Shuttle Atlantis. Check out animals at a few wildlife refuges and grab some a stack at the Merritt Island Pancake House.

Continue down to Melbourne and Melbourne Beach to visit the ocean and the Brevard Zoo by boat! You can also go to the botanical gardens and the Sea Turtle Preservation. Camp at the Sebastian Inlet State Park with options for tents and RV’s along just a short walk to the beach. The campsites all offer water, electricity, and a fire ring with Wi-Fi hotspots and bathrooms. From there, try all manner of outdoor activities along the coast.

Make your down to Grand to explore the Grant Historical House, McLarty Treasure Museum, and LaPorte Farms with zebras and other exotic animals. Then, end the trip camping at the Pelican Island RV Resort in Wabasso. The resort offers a boat ramp, clubhouse, and a swimming pool along with RV amenities too. If you want to stay at a hotel, instead stay at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort as it’s right on the beach and has an epic pool too.

The byway allows you to explore the Atlantic coast with tons of opportunities for tourists. Also, enjoy beautiful scenery, animals, and tons of outdoor activities too. Find unique shops along the way with fun souvenirs and plenty of options to interact with sea creatures. With tons of hotels and camping options, everyone can find the right accommodations to make this a spectacular trip to remember.
