Seward Highway
Sixmile Creek Viewpoint, AK

The Sixmile Creek Viewpoint provides a scenic vista of the Sixmile Creek valley, and several interpretive signs tell of the area's mining history. Also located here is the junction of the Seward Highway with the Hope Highway. The 16-mile Hope Highway is a wonderful side trip that leads past Sunrise, a once thriving gold-rush community, and into Hope, a smalll community with basic traveler services, gold panning, hiking, camping, fishing and scenic driving opportunities. The Hope Highway follows Sixmile creek into Turnagain Arm providing beautiful vistas around every curve.
