A Traveler's Experience

George Washington Memorial Parkway (VA)

What a great surprise. We were staying in a busy hotel in Arlington for a long weekend. We rented a car to go visit Antietam Battlefield, and Mapquest sent us on this road to get out of town. Instantly we went from urban craziness to what felt like a national park. If I'd had time, I'd have checked out all the interesting looking stops along the way to the Beltway.
