A Traveler's Experience

We travelled through the Beartooth Pass en route from Idaho Falls to the Little Bighorn Battlefield site. The weather during the morning while we travelled through North Yellowstone Park was rather wet and it wasn't looking good for the Pass. However, in the nick of the time the rain cleared away and we had a magnificent drive over the top. The landscape is a patchwork of colours with lakes and peaks all around. Once over the top there is a great viewpoint where a short walk takes you to a view right down the valley from left to right - it's fantastic.

Last summer we camped for five days at one of the gorgeous National Forest campgrounds south of Red Lodge and drove up the switchbacks nearly every day to hike and hang out above treeline. Gorgeous!
