A Traveler's Experience

Greetings from Scotland!
My husband and I first did the Beartooth Pass two years ago (at about the same time of year) but due to a major landslide we were unable to travel right over to Red Lodge.
This year the road was completely open and we were able to complete this stunning road from Cody to Red Lodge. The scenery is absolutely magnificent and it is a joy to be able to see such beautiful country.
Added to that, the summit of 10,947 feet is in fact my birthday date! (10 Sept 1947) How's that for a memorable "All American Road"?
We hope to return again to this part of the Rockies where people are most hospitable to visitors. Thank you.

AndrewDuluth on April 20, 2009 (traveled on August 10, 2008)This is one of the most beautiful places in the world that you can drive to. Last summer we camped for five days at one of the gorgeous National Forest campgrounds south of Red Lodge and drove up the switchbacks nearly every day to hike and hang out above treeline. Gorgeous!
