November 13, 2009 - Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway

Join the Blue Ridge Parkway this weekend for its 75th anniversary. The Blue Ridge Parkway officials are hosting several events to commemorate the parkway’s anniversary. The anniversary events began Thursday, November 12, with a keynote address at Cherokee High School. Friday includes a torch-passing event and will also feature guided tours of the area led by a Cherokee storyteller.
