July 1, 2009 - Maine’s Cleanest Beaches are found on or near Acadia Byway

Two beaches in Maine were published on the Clean Beaches Council’s annual list of America’s cleanest beaches, both of which are on or near Acadia Byway.

Twenty states were analyzed, and Sand Beach and Echo Beach, both in Acadia National Park, made the list. They have been designated as “Blue Wave” beaches, those that meet the standards of the Council’s environmental certification program.
