April 6, 2009 - Infusing Local History on the Historic National Road
The National Road Heritage Corridor and its Heritage Council reached out to elementary school teachers along the historic corridor to break ground on a new program that takes local history into the classroom without teaching a local history curriculum.
The council put together kits with information and activities inside that incorporate math, reading, writing, graphing, compare and contrast, reader’s theater, and, of course, history of the National Road as part of the project dubbed “Infusing Local History.”
