George Washington Memorial Parkway offers the opportunity to experience the natural beauty surrounding our Nation's capital. The Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge, located 18 miles from Washington D.C., invites you to explore over 2,000 acres of oak-hickory forest, freshwater marshes and miles of shoreline. While you explore the refuge, keep your eyes peeled; bald eagles are known for sheltering in the mature forests and using marshes for foraging and hunting.
