Great Falls Park is an 800-acre park located along the Potomac River 14 miles upriver from Washington DC. Three overlooks offer spectacular views of the Potomac River cascading 76-feet over jagged rocks and boulders. The remains of the Patowmack Canal at Great Falls and the ruins of Matildaville are listed on the National Register. Trails along the the 16-mile Potomac Gorge provide a scenic experience for visitors.
