Historic Route 66 - Illinois
Chicago, IL
Route 66 begins in the famous Windy City of Chicago. The architectural landscape of one of our nation's greatest cities manifests itself as the visitor begins his journey along the Chicago skyline. An adventure on Illinois 66 kicks off with attractions including historic Buckingham Fountain, Lake Michigan, and The Art Institute - the heart of Chicago's "Cultural Mile." It is no wonder Route 66 founder Cyrus Avery chose Chicago to anchor his 2400 mile journey to California.
