Driving the Byway

There are three ways of reaching the Altamaha Historic Scenic Byway:

Take I-95 to Exit 58 Turn east on SR 57 SR 57 will become SR 99 and the byway begins at the Sapelo Island Visitors Center.

Take I-95 to Exit 49 Turn east on SR 251 Turn right on US 17 The byway begins at the intersection with SR 99

Take I-95 to Exit 42 Turn east on SR 99 The byway will intersect at US 17.
