Starting at the junction of State Routes 266 and 288, travel southward on Route 288.

The byway will cross briefly into the Fort Apache Indian Reservation, and then continue southward passing through the town of Young. The byway is approximately 67 miles long and ends at the junction of State Routes 288 and 88.
