Driving the Byway

From the west side of San Bernardino National Forest - The byway begins at the Mormon Rock Fire Station which is 1.5 miles west of Interstate 15 on State Road 138. Go east along the route to State Route 38 to where it meets and merges into SR 18 at Crestline. Follow SR 18/38 to the dam at the west end of Big Bear Lake where SR 38 departs from SR 18 and goes north along Big Bear Lake to Big Bear City. SR 38 continues all the way to Redlands. The byway ends at the Mill Creek Ranger Station on the border of the San Bernardino National Forest.
