Driving the Byway

The Cumberland Cultural Heritage Highway is a network of byways in Southern Kentucky leading to the major recreation and historical sites in the region. There are many sections of the byway that are noted below.

Getting to the Byway
From: Lexington, KY
Distance: 31 miles
  • Arrive in Lexington and take US27 south from Man o' War Boulevard to Danville.
  • This is the northern-most terminus of the byway with a fork heading south along US150 and a fork heading southwest on US127 to Liberty.
Driving the Byway
From: There are a variety of beginning and ending points of the byway. Route sections are listed below.
  • KY90 and US127 from Burkesville to Monticello.
  • KY90 from US27 in McCreary County to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
  • KY163, US68, KY80, KY61 and KY55. Begins south of Edmonton on KY163 and extends along noted routes to Russel Springs at the junction with US127.
  • KY 55 and US68 beginning in Columbia and then following 55 and 68 to Campellsville.
  • US127 beginning in Russle Springs and then north along US127 through Casey County and ending in Danville at the junction with KY33.
  • US150 and KY78 begins in Danville at junction with US127 and extends to Stanford and then along KY78 to the intersection with US127.
  • KY235 from KY80 intersection and extending for 10 miles to Lake Cumberland.
