Wupatki National Monument, AZ
Wupatki is perhaps the most intriguing of all the Indian ruins in Northern Arizona. Evidence shows that people inhabited this area for at least 10,000 years. The ruins show the influence of no fewer than 4 distinct cultures and attests to the commerce that took place here. Although over 2700 sites have been mapped at the Monument, only 6 are open to the public. The main ruin, or the Tall House, contains more than 100 rooms. Nearby is a ceremonial amphitheater and "blow hole."
