Driving the Byway
To drive the byway go south on SR-313. After about 14 miles, you will reach a fork. The left fork of the byway proceeds about five miles to Dead Horse Point State Park, where a fee may be required to proceed to the viewpoints. The right fork of the byway proceeds about 16 miles into the Island In The Sky District of Canyonlands National Park and ends at Grandview Point. A fee is charged to enter the national park, as listed below.
To reach the byway, head north from Moab on US-191. After about 11 miles, look for the "Dead Horse Point State Park" sign and turn left (west) onto SR-313. This is the start of the Byway.
Fees to enter Canyonlands National Park:
Individual: $5 (Good for seven days)
Vehicle: $10 (Good for seven days)
Passes: Fee varies
Use your National Parks Pass or Golden Pass (Age, Eagle, or Access) for park entry.
Local Passport: $25 Annual Fee. Good for entrance to Arches, Canyonlands, Hovenweep and Natural Bridges.
