Driving the Byway

• Travel east from downtown Anchorage. The Glenn Highway is the only road out of Anchorage that takes the traveler to the north and east.
• The traveler will continure on the road for 135 miles passing Chugach State Park, Palmer, Independence Mine State Historic Park, and Matanuska Glacier.
