Special Considerations
The road has an average slope of 12 percent. Some portions of the road aren't paved.
Restrictions
Some vehicles can't go on the road.
These won't be allowed:
- Vehicles that are too wide or large
- Trailers, RVs, campers, and oversized vans converted to RVs.
- Vehicles with a wheel base larger than 155 inches (This excludes most club cab pickups and limousines).
- Pickups with additions wider than the cab (campers, rack bodies, and very wide mirrors).

Vehicles that are too heavy
- Heavy passenger or luggage loads.
- Saturns with automatic transmission with more than a 300 lb. load.

Vehicles that can't handle it
- Automatic Acuras, Sterlings, and Jaguars without a "1" on the shifter.
- Lincoln Continental 1969 or earlier.
- Former police cars and taxis (1st gear usually gets locked.)

Miscellaneous
- Two-wheeled vehicles (mopeds, motorcycles, etc.)
Special note
Three- and four- wheeled ATV's are only allowed if:
1. the driver has a valid driver's license
2. only one person rides on it at a time
3. the vehicle stays on the Auto Road
