Kinzua Point Information Center, serving all of Allegheny National Forest, is located at the intersection of Longhouse Scenic Drive and Hwy 59. It provides good interpretive exhibits as well as visitor information.

Special Considerations

The Longhouse Scenic Byway is near several communities where you can find lodging, food, gas, and other services. These communities are Bradford - 15 miles away, Kane - 10 miles away, and Warren - only 13 miles away from the byway.

Restrictions

Longhouse Scenic Byway is closed to public vehicles from late December to April first but is available for snowmobile and ATV use.

Seasons

Best Time to Drive

During summer, fall, or winter by snowmobile or ATV, the foliage along this byway is spectacular. Perhaps the best time to visit is during the fall when the reds, oranges, and yellows of the leaves contrast with the dark green pine needles.

Summer

Below the oaks and black cherry trees along Highway 59, the mountain laurels explode with white blossoms in mid-June.
