Great River Road
Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge, TN
Established August 5, 1985, Chickasaw NWR currently encompasses 25,006 acres and includes the largest block of bottomland hardwood forest in Tennessee. The area is an important wintering and stop-over area for a large number of the Mississippi Flyway mallard population. Many waterfowl species call the area home, including including black ducks, gadwall, pintail, teal, wigeon, wood duck, ring-necked duck, and hooded merganser.
