Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge, LA
This refuge was established as the 526th National Wildlife Refuge in the country. Its vast plant life provides habitats for many wildlife species. Some wildlife that reside in the area include white-tailed deer, bobcat, mink, river otter, Wild Turkey, Wood Duck, Black-Crowned Night Heron, Blue-Winged Teal, Solitary Sandpiper, Woodcock, Greater Yellowlegs, Prothonotary Warbler, Northern Parula, Pileated Woodpecker, green treefrog, and red-eared slider.
