Turner's Creek and Sassafras Natural Resource Management Area, MD
The Sassafras Natural Management Area features 1,000 acres of farmland, woodland, sandy beach, tidal ponds and marshland along the Sassafras River. Adjacent Turner's Creek offers a public boat ramp, fishing, volleyball, horseshoe pit and picnic pavilion. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, biking or just a walk on a sandy beach. Access is limited to foot, horse or bicycle.

The Sassafras Natural Management Area is located approximately 12 miles north of Chestertown on Turners Creek Road. From Chestertown go north 8.3 miles on 213 to Kennedyville. Turn west onto 448 (Turners Creek Road) and go about 2.6 miles to a dirt road. The park is to the west of the dirt road.
