Chesapeake Country Scenic Byway

Bicycles and pedestrians can travel safely in those sections with paved shoulders. Sidewalks are provided on both sides of the roadway in the majority of the towns but not in the rural sections.

Bicyclists should exercise caution in towns where the roadways often narrow and the potential for vehicle conflicts increases. Bicycles are not allowed on the Route 301 segment of the byway.

To continue on the byway in either direction by bike or foot, remain on Route 18 and cross over Routes 301 and 50 between Grasonville and Queenstown. using the Prime Outlets Center Drive as the connecting leg. Bicyclists are exempt from being required to use the J-turns on Route 301, but may go directly across the highways.

Bicyclists and pedestrians are reminded to use extreme caution when crossing either dual-highway at grade intersections.
