Special Considerations

There are frequent paved pull-offs and slow-traffic lanes that accommodate the current use levels. However, the byway experiences cycle groups as large as 200+ each summer.

Paved shoulders along the corridor are limited to two feet in some areas. To alleviate this situation, signs occur through the corridor alerting motorists to the presence of bicyclists and encouraging them to share the road.

Restrictions

Sherman Pass is the highest pass in Washington State that is maintained open year round. As such, certain restrictions may apply during the winter (eg., traction tires, chains).
