Places to Visit

  • Alki Point (WA)

    Alki Point, at the beaches of West Seattle in Puget Sound, is a favorite recreation spot for travelers and locals.

  • Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park (WA)

    The largest wild park in urban America, hiking and horseback riding is excellent on its network of trails which go through wetland and forest terrain.

    Directions: I-90 exit 13, head south on Lakemont Blvd. for 3 miles. Crystal Springs/Lake Keechelus: I-90 exit 63. John Wayne Pioneer Trail: This trail stretches from Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend (south of I-90 exit 32) and heads east across the state.

  • Crystal Springs/Lake Keechelus (WA)

    With trailheads for cross country skiing, snowmobiles, and hiking, the scenery is not the only thing avaliable at Lake Keechelus.

    Location on Byway: Both Sno-parks are near Lake Keechelus appr. 80 miles from Seattle.

  • Fall City (WA)

    Started in 1869 Fall City is one of the few of towns in King County that still remains unincorporated. However with no local government this town still gets things done. Visit to see for yourself the historical place of Fall City.

  • Fort Tilton (WA)

    At Fort Tilton see wetland wildlife and the site of an 1850's fort.

  • Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (WA)

    Walk the botanical gardens, watch the boats, and keep your eyes open for rare fish in the Locks.

  • Historic Thorp Grist Mill (WA)

    The Historic Thorp Grist Mill was built in 1881, providing flour to the entire area. Today the historic mill is being preserved in its original form to maintain its sense of culture in the area.

  • Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (WA)

    Visitors to the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery can learn more about the Issaquah Salmon and watch them fight the currents to lay their eggs.

  • John Wayne Pioneer Trail (WA)

    This former railway, Milwaukee Road, has an ideal grade for all types of non-motorized traffic.

    Location on Byway: The Trail stretches cross state and intersects the Greenway about 60 miles east of Seattle.

  • Lake Easton State Park (WA)

    Hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and camping abound in a beautiful, eastern Cascades setting.
