Driving the Byway

The Historic Hills Scenic Byway travels through Wapello, Davis, Van Buren, and Lee Counties.

• Begin the route traveling south on Highway 34 just north of Blakesburg.
• From Blakesburg, continue south on County Road T-61 as it curves past beautiful agricultural territory.
• Take County Road T-7J from T-61 and continue in a southeasterly direction towards Drakesville.
• At Drakesville, take SR 273 to the east.
• At the intersection with Highway 63, take Highway 63 going south.
• Highway 63 will take drivers to the community of Bloomfield.
• At the community of Bloomfield, take County Road J-40 east to Troy.
• Continue on J-40 past Troy, Keosauqua, Bentonsport, and Bonaparte.
• At Bonaparte, travel south on SR 2 to Farmington.
• From Farmington, continue on SR 2 to Donnellson and the end of the byway.
