Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway

There are many hiking trails/routes available along the byway, ranging from short scenic walks to the 80-mile Cherokee Foothills Trail. In addition, there are several bicycle clubs that use the byway as part of regularly scheduled tours.

Nature enthusiasts will relish the 80-mile Foothills Hiking Trail, a wilderness link between Table Rock and Oconee State Park. The entire trail will take four to eight days to walk, and there are primitive campsites along the way. A detailed trail map is necessary. Another trail, the National Boy Scout Trail located along the uncompleted Blue Ridge Railroad between Stumphouse Tunnel Park and Walhalla, can be hiked in a few hours.
