    Special Considerations

    • Gas is available only in Baker City and Sumpter.
    • The route is not snowplowed between Granite and Anthony Lakes in the winter.
    • There are a lot of free-ranging cattle. You may have to slow for them.
    • Chipmunks and squirrels run around all over here; watch for them.

    Restrictions

Part of Forest Road 73 is closed in the winter.
Forest fire danger is very high in the summer, so many campgrounds may not let you build fires.
