Driving the Byway

• Take Hwy 86 west, passing through the towns of Richland and Halfway before entering the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.
• Drive north on FS39 through the forest and the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area.
• Exit the forest and continue west on SR82, passing through the towns of Joseph, Enterprise, Wallowa, Minam, Elgin and Imbler.
• The byway ends in the town of La Grande.
