Driving the Byway

A suggested starting point is Abbeville (drive North on Hwy. 82 from the Intracoastal Waterway until you cross Hwy. 14), a historic city at the crossroads of the byway. From this city, one can head South on Hwy. 82 to the Rockefeller Refuge, or north on the same highway toward Maurice. To the east of Abbeville, is Jefferson Island and to the West is Lake Arthur.
