Las Vegas Strip
Glass Pool Inn, NV

When this hotel was constructed in 1952, this "swimming pool with windows" was meant to attract travelers who had just come out of the dusty desert. The only structure on the desert at that time, the Glass Pool Inn was a like a "mirage" to travelers exhausted from the heat of the Nevada desert. The Glass Pool Inn was originally named the Mirage Motel, but changed its name with the arrival of the Mirage Luxury Resort on the strip.

Sadly, in 2006 the Glass Pool Inn was torn down. However, the sign still stands as a historic monument to the famous hotel.
