Day 1

Start: Millersburg Visitor's Information Center
Millersburg is full of historic buildings and interesting shops so take time at the information center to learn about the things you can see.

Stop 1: Victorian House Museum
Directions from previous place: Go south on N. Monroe St. toward US 62/OH 39/E. Jackson St. Turn right on to this street. Turn right onto N. Clay St./OH 83. This road will become Wooster Rd. Follow it until you get to 484 Wooster Rd.
Distance from Previous Site: 0.42 miles / 0.7 km Travel Time from Previous Site: 1 minute Suggested Time at This Site: 30 minutes Built in 1900, the Victorian House and Museum is a gorgeous, 28-room, Queen Anne style home. Walk through the house and examine the museum exhibits.

Stop 2: West Holmes High School History Museum
Directions from previous place: Go south on Wooster Rd./OH 83. Follow this road until you get to OH 39/W. Jacson St. and turn right on to it. Follow OH 39 for 5.6 miles until you come to 10909 State Route 39 and pull into the school.

Stop 3: Guggisberg Cheese Factory
Directions from previous place: Go east on OH 39 for 10.7 miles. Turn right onto OH 557. Turn left to stay on the road and then quickly right. Follow the road until you come to 5060 State Route 557 and the Cheese Factory.

Over 40 varieties of cheese, imported and local, are available for tasting. On a walking tour you can watch cheese being made during the weekdays.

Overnight Point: Baltic Mills
Directions from previous place: Go southeast on OH 557 for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Country Road 114. This road will become Township Hwy 178. Turn left onto Township Rd 177. After about a mile turn Left onto OH 651. The road will merge into E. Main street. Follow the road until you reach 111 E. Main and the Baltic Mills.
Distance from Previous Site: 9 miles / 14.4 km Travel Time from Previous Site: 19 minutes This is a historic, restored mill, which is still used to grind wheat into flour. Tours are offered for the curious, and there is a gift shop featuring bulk foods, Amish crafts, bird houses, and feeders.

Stop 1: German Culture Museum
Directions from previous place: Take OH 93 northeast to Shanesville. In Shansville turn left to get onto OH 39/Hwy 62 and take it northwest to Walnut Creek. In Walnut Creek, turn right onto Monroe St. Follow this road until you reach the German Culture Museum.

Some of the furniture and amenities in the museum depict early Amish life.

Stop 2: Yoder's Amish Home
Directions from previous place: Go south on N Monroe St. and turn left onto US 62/ OH 39. Follow this road for about 7 miles and turn left onto US 62. Turn right onto CR 168. After three and a half miles turn right onto Township Rd 410. Then turn left onto OH 515 and go until you see Yoder's 116-acre farm.

Stop 3: Rolling Ridge Ranch
Directions from previous place: Go south on OH 515 and turn right onto Township Rd 410. Quickly turn left onto CR 168 and follow this road until you see the ranch. There are signs along the way so you won't get lost.

Stop 4: Heini's Cheese House and Country Mall
Directions from previous place: Go west on CR 168. Turn right when you come to CR 77 and follow it until you get to 6005 Country Road 77.

The gift shop offers bulk food, Heritage Lace, Amish souvenirs, etc. If you crave something sweet, run over to Heini's Heartland Confectionery, which is close by.

Stop 5: Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center
Directions from previous place: Follow CR 77 for about a mile until you get to 5798 County Rd 77.
Distance from Previous Site: 1 miles / 1.6 km Travel Time from Previous Site: 2 minutes Suggested Time at This Site: 45 minutes Visitors can learn more about Amish and Mennonite culture and history at this center by watching a video, looking at galleries and a mural, and visiting the bookstore.

Overnight Point: Schrock's Amish Farm and Home
Directions from previous place: Continue on CR 77 south and follow it until the road crosses State Route 39. Turn right onto SR 39 and follow it towards Berlin. Stay on this road until you reach 4363 SR 39.

Stop 1: Holmes County Trail
Directions from previous place: Go southwest on OH 39/US 62. Turn right onto CR 201. After about 4 miles turn left to stay on the road. After three miles take another left to stay on CR 201. Turn right to stay on the road again. The road will become CR 10, which becomes N. Mill St./CR 501. Follow N. Mill St. until you get to Fredericksburg and come to the start of the Holmes County Trail.

Stop 2: Farmers' Produce Auction
Directions from previous place: Go southeast on N. Mill St./CR 501. The road will become Fryburg Rd/CR 10, which will in turn become CR 201. Turn left to stay on the road and then take a right soon after. After about 3 miles turn left onto OH 241 and follow it until you see the Farmers' Produce Auction.

Stop 3: Alpine Alpa Restaurant
Directions from previous place: Go east on OH 241 and turn right onto CR 77. Turn left onto CR 160. Merge onto US 62 and follow it until you come to 1504 US 62.

An indoor waterfall serves as the main attraction, contributing greatly to the relaxed atmosphere. Though the specials change seasonally, menu favorites include Swiss steak and Amish-style roast beef. Fresh-baked breads and rolls are also available from the facility's bakery.
