Itasca State Park is the oldest in Minnesota, and is also home to the headwaters of the famous Mississippi River.
Location on Byway: At the northernmost end of the byway, at US 71 and SR 200.

A central city since its early days, Minneapolis is a city of charm and culture.
Directions: Turn west off of Highway 34 (the start of the Lake Country Scenic Byway). Go onto Highway 59 south for app 43 miles. Get onto Highway 52 for 179 miles. Follow I094 south.
