Driving the Byway

• The byway begins outside of Carrboro in Orange County.
• At the NC 54 intersection, begin the byway by following Jones Ferry Road (SR 1005).
• Continue for one mile to the second light.
• Keep to the right after crossing the lake and continue on SR 1005, which turns into Old Greensboro Road.
• Travel on SR 1005 for eight miles through Orange County before crossing over the Haw River.
• The river marks the county line and S.R. 1005 changes to Greensboro/Chapel Hill Road.
• Continue for 8 miles until you reach Snow Camp.
• Turn left onto Snow Camp Road (SR 1004).
• Next, turn right onto Sylvan School Road (SR 2360).
• Turn right onto Drama Road (SR 2407).
• Turn right again onto Sylvan School Road (SR 2369) before getting back onto SR 1005.
• Continue on SR 1005 for about 7 more miles.
• The road changes names again to Alamance Church Road.
• The route ends at the junction of SR 1005 and Blakeshire Road (SR 3334).
• Continue on SR 1005 for about eight more miles to reach the US 421 and i-85 interchange.
