  • American Classic Motorcycle Museum (NC)

    There are six decades of the Harley Davidson American tradition included in this museum. The exhibits include a repair shop, diner, and gift store.

    Directions: 1170 US 64, west of Asheboro

  • Birkhead Mountain and Robbins Branch Trails (NC)

    These are the trails that most visitors come to hike.

    Location on Byway: Call 336-576-6391 for a trail map.

  • North Carolina Zoological Park (NC)

    The North Carolina Zoological Park Features 500 acres of North American as well as African habitat for animals from all over the world.

    Directions: East of the byway off BUS 220.

  • Pisgah Covered Bridge (NC)

    Visit one of North Carolina's last remaining covered bridges. It spans a creek joining the Little River, and offers a shady spot for a picnic and nature walk.

    Directions: Just south of the byway in the Uwharrie National Forest on Pisgah Covered Bridge Road.

  • True Bluegrass (NC)

    Located in Eleazer right off the Birkhead Route, this secluded bluegrass venue offers a unique atmosphere of an old string music pickin' session.
