Driving the Byway

Start northeast from Marble on Hwy 74.
At Andrews, take the business loop 19 and connect up to 74 again at Topton.
Continue on 74 to Bryson City
In Bryson City, follow Business 19 (Main Street) about 2 miles, then turn right onto SR 1168 (Hyatt Creek Road).
After crossing the Tuckasegee River, turn right onto Business 19 again for 7/10ths of a mile.
Turn right onto Old US 19 (SR 1195), cross the Oconaluftee River.
Follow this road as it becomes SR 1531.
The route ends at Whittier where SR 1531 meets with US 74.
