Special Considerations

This Type I and II byway can usually be driven from May through October. However, as the road is bladed not surfaced, even light rains can cause muddy, unsafe travelling conditions on the byway. The road negotiates undeveloped country which could be hazardous if traveled by the unprepared.

There are no services which exist along the byway route, please plan accordingly and take all necessary safety precautions.

The road is maintained on an annual basis, however some areas of the road can accumulate several inches of dust. In normal conditions a high clearance, two-wheel drive vehicle can manage the road without much difficulty. Grades do not exceed 7 percent.

Restrictions

The byway is closed between November and April. Rains can cause muddy, impassable conditions.
