Special Considerations

With a high level of road maintenance, the highways is suited for travel by all forms of passenger and commercial touring vehicles. Tour buses are accommodated in the same manner as any other vehicles traveling along the route. Parking for tour buses is accommodated at commercial establishments throughout corridor. Adequate space is available along the undeveloped segments of highway to drop off and pick up outdoor recreationalists and hikers.

Unexpected snow storms can affect travel time. However, because of the importance of the highway and the high level of use it receives, NYSDOT has a clear pavement policy for the plowing of the roadway.

Restrictions

There are no seasonal limitations or planned road closings along Route 73 due to snow falls or flooding. Travel delays are minimal.
