Meeting of the Great Rivers Scenic Route
Pere Marquette State Park, IL
Pere Marquette State Park is one of Illinois' largest state parks. Nestled along the banks of the Illinois River on the Byway near Grafton, a myriad of trails take you within the wild forests and up to spectacular viewsheds along the bluff line above. Rangers can assist you with hiking plans and provide valuable insights on how to best explore this giant park. Don't miss the visitors center where you can learn firsthand about the natural treasures in and around the park. Campgrounds are available, and there is also a boat launch. A lodge and cabins are available for the overnight visitors, but plan far ahead as this is one of the most popular attractions in the Midwest.
