Driving the Byway

The byway proper:

From the east portal of the Caldecott Tunnel, past Orinda and Lafayette, to Junction SR 680.

• 680, taken north, leads past Concord;
• 680 south goes past Danville and on toward San Jose.
• Route 24 goes only in a westerly direction toward Oakland and Berkeley at the intersection with Interstate 580.
