Explore trails known for their scenic qualities on Washington's Chinook Scenic Byway, one of the most biking-oriented areas in the country. Near Enumclaw, wind twelve miles through forests and near creeks on the Skookum Flats Trail, known by avid bikers as a premier path. Or enjoy a longer ride just off the Byway on Little Bald Mountain Trail. This 29.8-mile loop through beautiful fields of wildflowers and lush evergreen forests consists of steep inclines and a variety of sandy and hard packed terrain for more advanced riders.

Discover for yourself what makes Highland Scenic Byway in West Virginia one of the country's most coveted biking destinations. A variety of terrains and landscapes sprawl across the state and provide a fun experience for bikers at any skill level. Follow trails in the hills just outside the Cranberry Wilderness in the Monogahela National Forest to breathtaking scenic overlooks. You won't be disappointed by North Carolina's Blue Ridge Parkway either. The nearby Nantahala River Gorge Area encompasses a half million acres of wilderness, full of single and dualtrack trails through thick wooded areas near the gorgeous Nantahala River.

In search of adventure? Many of America's Byways® also offer some of the most intense and challenging trails in the country. Considered by some to be the "Preordained Mecca of Mountain Biking," Moab, Utah, on the Dinosaur Diamond Prehistoric Highway, is home to extreme trails and spectacular views. The unique sandpaper-like rock surface allows for maximum speed and gravity-defying descents and makes the Slickrock Bike Trail world-famous among bikers. Or try your luck on the area's Poison Spider Mesa Trail. With both sandy and slickrock topography, this extreme trail is guaranteed to weary even the most experienced rider and is recommended for expert bikers only.

Or get your thrills on Kaibab Plateau North Rim Parkway in Arizona. Running along the north rim of the Grand Canyon, the route offers spectacular views of the famous landmark as well as a challenging rocky singletrack through desert vistas and secluded forests.
